Utkalika’s commitment to design and thorough, intelligent approach to any problem is inspiring to everyone in the office. Her quiet sense of humor in any situation helps us remember to keep things in perspective.

Utkalika draws on her experiences working in India as an architect and planner for several years, primarily in the cities of New Delhi, Ahmedabad and Bhubaneswar. With this rich background, she has been resourceful in all scales of design and execution, adapting quickly to the requirements and constraints of development and construction in the New York City metropolitan area. Utkalika’s major projects are varied and numerous, including multiple projects in the Bronx and upper Manhattan, as well as a new supportive housing project in Far Rockaway currently in construction. She is also helping to lead the effort on a new family shelter in Flushing, that incorporates both Passive House principles and Feng Shui. It was no surprise to anyone (except maybe herself!) that she has recently become an associate at UAI.
