75 north seventh street
Previous Project|Next Project75 North Seventh Street (75N7) in Hudson, New York, developed by Galvan Initiatives, is a new five-story with partial cellar, approximately 84,000 square foot, mixed-use residential building with four commercial retail spaces for underserved entrepreneurs.
75N7 will provide the City of Hudson with 75 new mixed-income affordable units with amenities such as a flexible use community room, bicycle storage room, fitness room, common laundry room, tenant storage, and a private rear court for outdoor recreation.
The exterior of 75 North Seventh Street is designed to respond to the Hudson Historic District as well as the industrial Depot District neighborhood. The building will be four stories of wood framing over a block and plank structural podium and concrete foundation; the facade will be clad with brick masonry and fenestrated with triple-glazed fiberglass windows and commercial storefronts.
From inception, 75N7 was designed, and will be built and certified to PHIUS+ 2018 Passive House standards to optimize energy performance and put sustainability at the forefront. The building will also be all-electric, with solar PV arrays on the gable roofs, and will use a heat pump domestic hot water system and air-source heat pump VRF system for heating and cooling. The commitment to designing a highly energy efficient building is the reason why 75N7 is a NYSERDA Buildings of Excellence, Round 1 awardee. Construction of 75N7 is anticipated to start by Fall 2023.
